After a long custody battle, Pier was granted custody of Perry for 10 months out of each year and the rest were with Vic. eventually though, the boy decided to move from Rome to Los Angeles to live full time with his father while Pier tried to get her career back on track. She stayed in close contact with her son, and moved back to the States towards the end of her life to be closer to him. I believe he was 17 when she passed away and all the money she had made from her last completed film was to buy her son a new car.
